Koki Miura was a member of a taiko club during his high school years, and then entered the Kodo Apprentice Centre in 2011. In 2013, as a junior member he was chosen to perform Akatsuki, the solo opening number in the “Amaterasu" production. He became a Kodo member in 2014. On stage, he is featured mainly on taiko drums and in dance pieces. He has steadily gained experience through performances in Japan and on international tours. He uses his entire body to drum powerfully and move dynamically, yet he also shows a talent for more subtle forms of expression during dance pieces. In 2016, Miura was featured as an O-daiko soloist in "Spirited Summer" and the "Kodo School Workshop Performance" tour.
