Shogo Komatsuzaki first encountered taiko in his early teens, and was a member of his high school drama club. He entered the Kodo Apprentice Centre in 2009 and became a Kodo member in 2013. On stage, he is featured mainly on taiko drums and in dance pieces. In 2013, he was chosen to play the role of Ameno-uzume in the "Amaterasu" scenes featured in the "Tamasaburo Bando Special Performances" in Kagawa. Komatsuzaki uses his entire body when he performs, making the most of his supple physique while continuing to refine his range of physical expression in both dance and taiko.
