This is an announcement from Sado Island Taiko Centre following their recent event featuring performances by Kodo.
To everyone who attended “Tatakokan 15th Anniversary Thanksgiving Festival” on Dec. 3–4, thank you very much for coming along to celebrate with us.
You helped us make it a very lively, fun festival. Its thanks to all your support that we are able to continue offering uplifting events with the good vibrations of taiko echoing out. We are truly grateful to each and every one of you.
We have an important notice to share.
Several people who were at the event over the weekend have reported that they subsequently developed a fever and tested positive for COVID-19.We regret having to share this alarming news, but we want to ask everyone who was there to keep an eye on their health, just in case. If you develop any symptoms, we recommend taking a COVID-19 test. If you test positive, please contact your local health authorities for advice.
Please note that we disinfected all the tables, benches, restrooms, and high contact surfaces thoroughly after the event on Dec. 3 and again on Dec. 4.
In light of this situation, we have decided to close Sado Island Taiko Centre (Tatakokan) until Dec. 15. We will be closed for the winter period as planned from Dec. 16 through Feb. 28. Thank you for your understanding.
