We regret to announce that Kodo Distinguished Member Chieko Kojima has tested positive for COVID-19.
Kojima has been away from Sado Island since Jan. 29. After becoming a suspected close contact of a COVID-19 case during her travels, she took a PCR test on Feb. 4, which returned a positive result.
Kojima will not return to Sado Island until she has received negative tests and clearance to do so. She is following all the advice and steps provided by medical staff and local government authorities.
Due to her diagnosis, she will no longer appear at her scheduled Feb. 5 (Sat) performance in Tokyo at Hare Mame. Thank you for your understanding.
The safety of all Kodo event attendees and staff, along with Kodo performers and staff, is paramount to us. The Kodo Group will continue to do its utmost to prevent contracting and spreading COVID-19 by following COVID-19 protocols with care.
