July 12 (Fri)–15 (Mon/Public Hol.), 2019 Live-in Workshop “Kodo Juku 2019” (Sado Island, Niigata)

Annual Favorite “Kodo Juku” Returns in Summer 2019!

The theme of Kodo Juku is passion. Most of the current Kodo members spent their first two years on Sado Island training at Kodo Apprentice Centre in Kakinoura. It’s a commitment that takes a lot of drive and dedication.

This live-in workshop is a four-day escape from your everyday life where you’ll experience the daily life of a Kodo apprentice and play taiko to your heart’s content with facilitator Eiichi Saito.

You’ll also get to know the Kodo’s next-generation hopefuls: the second-year apprentices, who will act as staff at the event. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience limited to first-time participants only, so new encounters and friends await one and all. We hope you’ll come along for this early summer retreat!
