Kodo Special Performance in Asakusa "Spirited Summer"
Kodo returns to Asakusa for the fourth year in a row with a brand new production entitled "Spirited Summer," directed by Tsuyoshi Maeda.
Shuhei Hasado, a plaster craftsman whose work ranges from modern constructions to architectural creations using age-old plastering techniques, provided Kodo with bold calligraphy for the Japanese title of this work, Wakai Natsu. His art will be featured on stage throughout the performance as a powerful opponent to Kodo's soul-stirring taiko and boundless energy.
