Chieko Kojima Solo Project Live-In Taiko Workshop and Yukiai Live

A live-in taiko workshop with Chieko Kojima will be held in September. Come along to enjoy the natural surroundings of the Kubiki region in Niigata at this intensive workshop, held in a center with views of the early autumn mountains.
On the first night, you will enjoy a "Yukiai Live" performance, featuring Chieko, at a traditional Japanese homestead. From Day 2, you can roll up your sleeves and play taiko earnestly for a whole day and a half. Chieko's method approaches taiko from a dancer's point of view with a curriculum that focuses on each individual. Chieko will explain things in a way that is easy to grasp, focus on every participant individually, and enjoy exchange with the whole class, making for a fruitful 3-day, 2-night program.

Applications are now open for a second intake. Men and women ages 15 & over with taiko experience are welcome to take part in this special workshop event.

- Applications are accepted fax or email. Please include the following details and send it to the Kodo Cultural Foundation: Full name, gender, age, postal address, telephone number. Workshop details will be sent to each participant after their application is processed.

- Monday Sep. 16, 2013 (for 2nd intake).
*Participants will be selected by lottery if application numbers exceed available spaces.
