In 2006 and 2007, Kabuki luminary Tamasaburo Bando and Kodo appeared in a special on-stage collaboration portraying the Japanese myth, Amaterasu. The performance featured Bando's magnificent dances in the role of the sun goddess herself, with Kodo portraying the gods in the story as they play taiko, sing, and play bamboo flutes and koto (harps). We plan to hold performances from July to October 2013 in Tokyo, Sado, Fukuoka, and Kyoto.
