<p><a href="https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982.jpg" data-rel="lightbox-gallery-hiLwSnmR" data-rl_title="" data-rl_caption="" title=""><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-img370 wp-image-5197" src="https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982-370x278.jpg" alt="" width="370" height="278" srcset="https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982-370x278.jpg 370w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982-600x450.jpg 600w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982-120x90.jpg 120w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8982.jpg 1175w" sizes="(max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px" /></a><br />
Tomohiro Mitome welcomed Deputy Governor Masuda with a performance on our &#8220;au naturel&#8221; Kodo-crafted taiko, Yamaimo-kun (a.k.a. Spuddy), and then we invited our special guest to have a go playing the big drum.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990.jpg" data-rel="lightbox-gallery-hiLwSnmR" data-rl_title="" data-rl_caption="" title=""><img decoding="async" class="aligncenter size-img370 wp-image-5198" src="https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990-370x278.jpg" alt="" width="370" height="278" srcset="https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990-370x278.jpg 370w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990-600x450.jpg 600w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990-1200x900.jpg 1200w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990-120x90.jpg 120w, https://www.kodo.or.jp/cms/wp-content/uploads/2017/09/DSCN8990.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 370px) 100vw, 370px" /></a><br />
When we talked to the deputy governor about the &#8220;EXADON&#8221; programme, which combines taiko drumming with healthcare to help prevent the onset of dementia in senior citizens, he remarked, &#8220;I think that will make everyone feel well.&#8221; Deputy Governor Masuda took a look through the Rokusuke Ei exhibition upstairs and he was enthusiastic to hear our staff tell him all about it. We look forward to seeing him again and we hope he will bring his family with him next time.</p>
