The 24 participants who joined me there traveled from Tokyo, Kanagawa, Gunma, Gifu, Hiroshima, Okayama, Mie, Nara, Hyogo, Osaka, Fukui, Shiga, Kyoto, and as far away as Canada. We enjoyed a very intense weekend of\u00a0making\u00a0good vibrations and connections together in Wachi.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7963\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/10.4-2-340x225.jpg\" alt=\"10.4 (2)\" width=\"340\" height=\"225\" \/><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-7966\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/10.4-4-340x225.jpg\" alt=\"10.4 (4)\" width=\"340\" height=\"225\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The venue was Wachi Taiko&#8217;s practice hall, which used to be an elementary school in Wachi. So we got to go outside on the school field and play &#8220;air taiko&#8221; to practise the taiko rhythms as we sang them out loud. It felt so good to have the grass under our bare feet. It was the best place to hold a camp! Everyone stayed at\u00a0a Japanese inn in front of JR Wachi Stn. called Kadoya Ryokan.\u00a0We had a\u00a0dinner party there and we all\u00a0had such a great time\u00a0eating, drinking, chatting and dancing together.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7960\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/87c77e9314bfdc65e21fe35903f61b80-680x450.jpg\" alt=\"10.4\u5e83\u91ce (2)\" width=\"640\" height=\"423\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On the Sunday morning, Wachi Taiko was invited to perform at a sports festival on the plains where Wachi Taiko originated. So we went to\u00a0Fujinomori Shrine and I played Wachi Taiko as a special offering\u00a0with the members of the Wachi Taiko preservation group, Wachi Taiko Hozonkai. All the taiko camp participants came along to watch us drum.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/09f0753096e83162020b90602c329b59.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-7961\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/10\/09f0753096e83162020b90602c329b59-680x450.jpg\" alt=\"\u64ae\u5f71\uff1a\u6c5f\u672c\u525b\" width=\"640\" height=\"423\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We plan to hold this <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/news\/20151003yoshikazuws_en.html\">&#8220;O-daiko Camp&#8221;<\/a> every year in my hometown. If the timing didn&#8217;t suit you this time, I hope you can make it\u00a0next time! Please come along.
