It was a chilly time of year with\u00a0light snowfall, but the children sang happily and had a\u00a0great time together with Yoko.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSCN7396.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5219\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSCN7396-340x255.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Tsugumi Yamanaka\" width=\"340\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yoko has led these song workshops at this school every year for 16 years now. Even though the teachers have come and gone with transfers to other schools, this workshop been handed along like a relay baton. The first workshops were held here when my daughter was in the\u00a0first\u00a0grade, and although her homeroom teacher at that time was subsequently transferred away, she was transferred back here again\u00a0some years later. That\u00a0feels like fate to me.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSCN7279-f-ss.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-5221\" src=\"http:\/\/www.kodo.or.jp\/blog\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/DSCN7279-f-ss-340x255.jpg\" alt=\"Photo: Tsugumi Yamanaka\" width=\"340\" height=\"255\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ogi Elementary School is going to move to a different\u00a0school building (formerly Ogi Junior High School) in April,\u00a0so this year&#8217;s workshops were the last ones here at these premises. This building has echoed with songs for years and years, but it will be demolished soon. On March 9, Yoko volunteered to\u00a0give\u00a0a concert entitled &#8220;Sado-kara Itadaita Uta Monogatari\u00a0(Story of Songs from Sado Island)&#8221;\u00a0for all the students, teachers and parents of Ogi Elementary School.
