Sep. 19\u00a0Kodo Special Ensemble Performance at Maestro Trip Around Chiba Vol. 4: Japanese Traditional Taiko<\/h2>\n

Eight\u00a0of us appeared in a “Kodo Special Ensemble Performance” in Chiba. Part One\u00a0was a talk by Eiichi Saito about Monochrome<\/span>, a piece by modern music maestro Maki Ishii (d. 2003) composed for Japanese taiko drums that is renowned as an iconic feature of the Kodo repertoire. Part Two\u00a0was a mini concert by Kodo.<\/p>\n

It\u00a0was\u00a0my very first time to perform\u00a0Monochrome\u00a0<\/span>for an audience.
\nI still have a lot to learn,\u00a0but I was so happy to play this piece\u00a0with some of Kodo’s\u00a0veteran members.<\/p>\n
