The "Hakusanmaru", a large gallant ship from the final years of the Edo Era, is resident at the Folk Museum in Shukunegi, Sado. It is Japan's first fully restored Chinese junk sailing ship, and it is delivered from the exhibit hall once a year to have its 1000-foot-high sail raised. Yoshikazu Fujimoto will perform on the eve of the festival held in the Hakusanmaru's honor, right in front of the glorious ship lit up in the night.
