Tatakokan Shimotsuki Matsuri (November Festival)

The Tatakokan Shimotsuki Matsuri has become a highly anticipated annual event for the entire Sado Island community. The main hall with be abundant with freshly harvested goodies in our Ogi Misaki Harvest Market as the celebratory sounds of 'Toki-no Taiko' welcome the fall harvest.

Kodo's Eiichi Saito will make a solo appearance, and there will be performances by Hamochi Minyo Kenkyukai (Folk Songs), Otakikko-daiko of Otaki Elementary School, and Sumiyoshi-ushio Tarubayashi of Ryotsu. As a pre-event, taiko workshops by Eiichi Saito will take place the day before the festival.

What's On:
Produce market, Toki-no Taiko (performance), hands-on activities including painting clay figures as well as crafting candles-in-a-shell, branch pendants, wooden pencils, and eco-friendly shopping bags. You can also get a closer look at (and taste of!) the delicious foods in season now on the Ogi Peninsula.
