In 2008, Earth Celebration won the “Furusato Event First Prize” presented by the Japan Center for Regional Development. This award was given in recognition of the festival’s efforts to promote friendship, new experiences, and regional traveling by making the most of local resources such as the natural environment and traditional culture.
