Masaya Koike began playing taiko when he was twelve and was an active member of his local taiko group throughout his teenage years. He entered the Kodo Apprentice Centre in 2013 and became a Kodo member in 2016. On stage, Koike is mainly featured on taiko drums, bamboo flutes, and metal percussion instruments. He is known for his emotive eyes and charismatic performances playing chappa abroad through the "DADAN" Brazil tour and special event performances in Vietnam and Korea. Wherever he goes, he always brightens the mood with his humor and cheerful disposition.
