Eiichi joined Kodo in 1982 and has been a featured player on domestic and international tours, in collaborations with artists of various genres, and on recordings ever since.
In Kodo's signature piece, 'Monochrome' (Composed by Maki Ishii), he has been the drumline leader for many years. In addition to his stage activities, Eiichi also leads the extremely popular 'Kodo Juku' workshops on Sado which focus on self-discovery rather than technique. His unique character and boundless energy put Eiichi in great demand to conduct workshops throughout Japan and around the globe.
