What is EC? | About the Earth Celebration Committee

Sado City and Kodo collectively form the core body of the Earth Celebration Committee. For more than 20 years, festival production, venue set up and event management have been overseen by the EC Committee with the help of part-time staff and volunteers from both on and off the island. In 2008, EC won the “Furusato Event First Prize” presented by the Japan Center for Regional Development. This award was given in recognition of the festival’s efforts to promote friendship, new experiences, and regional traveling by making the most of local resources such as the natural environment and traditional culture.
