I think that one of the highlights in “Kodo One Earth Tour: Mystery” is the lion dance,\u00a0Shishimai<\/span>. The head is operated by Kosuke Urushikubo, who was an apprentice with me.
\nTo sum it up in\u00a0one word, it’s\u00a0“cute.”<\/p>\n

When you think of a lion dance in Japan, it may conjure images of a valiant beast dancing at a festival… but this\u00a0Shishimai<\/span>\u00a0is a little different to that… or perhaps it’s quite different?<\/p>\n

Please come along and see\u00a0how Kosuke’s Shishimai<\/span> interacts with the\u00a0four female performers on stage.<\/p>\n

Another\u00a0piece to watch for Ajara<\/span>, which I perform\u00a0with Tetsumi Hanaoka, who is one year my senior, and Jun Jidai, who was\u00a0an apprentice with me. In fact, the three of us have known each other since our\u00a0high school days, so we know & understand each other very well. I would like to show you our trio’s\u00a0synchronization\u00a0in this piece. I think you’ll also enjoy\u00a0seeing the performers operate the lighting under the new artistic direction of this piece!<\/p>\n
